Here are the lyrics to the songs.
MY CIRRIPEDIAN FRIENDS
When you find me, down by the seaside
You won't recognize me,
Under all the barnacles and oysters.
Make up a story,
Of how I fought creatures vicious and wild,
Like sharks and giant squid,
Or how I cut valiantly through,
The belly of a hideous beast.
Somehow made it back to shore,
With my barnacle friends on my back.
Tell them of how,
I swam with a school of sirens,
Luring sailors and fishermen out to sea,
To the consternation of their wives and children,
But we always do,
Bring them back safely.
I HAVE A WINDOW
I have some change,
Left over from the night before,
And it buys me 10 minutes of
Time over the cables with you.
I have a window,
And it looks over the grocery store,
And all the cars shuffling down below,
But none of them,
Reminds me of home.
Between insomnia and the winter solstice,
I never see the sun anymore.
And snow came, a surprise in November,
As the world tilts bumbling around and,
I have some change,
And it buys me 10 minutes of
Time over the cables with you.
BRING US YOUR LEADER
The world will end,
And when it ends,
The sea will part and little men with pointy sticks,
Will come to my door.
They'll say, "bring us your leader"
I'll assume the post,
Like I was he, I'll direct them to,
Where you sleep tonight.
So lock all your doors,
And hide all your children.
Hide all your children.
Tell them not to peek,
cause it won't be pretty,
And not to yell, when they hear you screaming.
When the little men,
Have done their work,
We'll dance on your grave,
Until the day is done.
EVERY WAVE OF SOUND
Well, in all likelihood,
I will remember you,
For you were the last relic of my innocence.
Calling out of my window pane,
Wound down tightly to the end.
So that every wave of sound,
Can reach your precious heart,
Mended time and time again.
But the worst part of me,
Broke it once again,
and left you with the only
Good part of me, so I grieve,
And I grieve until now.
There is a part of you,
In every pulse since then,
When I knew I could love you,
Through all the waking hours,
And the dark, dark ones too.
So this will be the last,
Song I sing for you,
And finally hope to bury,
Your memory under the wreckage that was me.
That was me.
BEAT HEROES DIE TOO SOON
Sal Paradise, gazed upon the open road,
And yells at the valley where she used to dance to,
The dripping of the tap,
Musicless, just glad to be free.
I thought you were a nice college boy she said,
I guess you were wrong,
Felt ashamed for letting you down that way.
Dead dreams, so dying to be buried on the island where,
Contentment is disguised.
wish I was more like Jack, you know,
Don't we all wanna be, free,
Back in '45.
Well, I can be Jack and you can be Dean,
We can run all the way to San Fran, but,
Beat heroes die too soon, and
These dreams will die with them, and
Tomorrow we'll quiet down,
Tomorrow we'll quiet down,
Tomorrow we'll quiet down,
Tomorrow we'll quiet down.
A BRAND NEW FABRICATION
One foot in the shadow,
Of our house by the sea.
One foot in the water,
That carried you away.
Another lonely suicide,
Silenced by, a brand new.
Fabrication.
They'll find your body,
On the other shore,
On the other side of the world.
This will be, the basis of,
A brand new myth,
To tell our children,
Of how you left this prosaic shore,
To find adventure,
Along the faultlines, yeah!
One eye on the mirror,
Finds it hard to see,
One eye on the shipwreck,
That led you from the quay.
HOME FOR THE SONGLESS
One 'o clock, it was a bright cold day in February.
Plastic cups, growing heavier
With each passing good Samaritan.
With dogs in tow,
Out on the longest walk of their lives,
Can't say why.
It's alright as long as I,
Looks straight ahead,
And say I am sorry.
Cheap magazines filled with pictures of people with,
Better lives.
CROOKED TOWN
Elevator, elevate me, to the top to the reservoir/refinery,
Supplies water/sugar to everyone living in this crooked town.
And I will
Poison all the vats.
To kill off everyone,
LIving in this crooked town.
